A shy, quiet, hardworking man, Japan is very inexperienced when it comes to the outside world and takes time to adjust to new people. You can see him taking a walk every night to watch the moon, since he thinks it's very beautiful. He takes interest of getting to know other country's cultures and loves to take part of them. At times, he can have a behavior as an "old man" because he thinks that he is getting too old. He also doesn't like to get touched by others and feels very uncomfortable if he ever does.

He is a short, slim man with black hair, flatly-colored dark brown eyes, and is often depicted wearing a white naval uniform with black and gold accents. But he usually wears a kimono if he's at his house though since he thinks it's much more "comfortable" for him.
